PAPHOS

Paphos is one of the most beautiful and ancient towns of Cyprus. Wherever one treads in Paphos he comes across its glorious history which dates back thousands of years, when the cult of goddess Aphrodite who emerged from its seas, flourished in this beautiful part of the world attracting many visitors from the inland and abroad.

Today it is a small harbour town, but in Hellenistic and Roman times it was the Capital of Cyprus. Still under the spell of her Beauty-Goddess, the area retaining her magic, has remained impact by time. It seduces its visitor with its majestic landscape, lovely coastline, historical treasures and delightful villages where tradition is still a way of life.

ALGARVE

Situated on the extreme South of Portugal, this part of the territory was the last to be conquered from the Moors by the Portuguese king in 1292. Traces of the Moorish presence are still seen in its unique architecture - terraces, chimneys and whitewashed houses.

However, the distance that was difficult to cover back in the 13th century is no longer an obstacle thanks to the modern Lisbon-Albufeira-Castro Marim road (IP1) or Faro international airport. So why not visit this charming region, with its idyllic temperatures which are ideal for playing golf and other sports. In the northern part of the Algarve, the hills of Espinhação de Cão, Monchique and Caldeirão shelter the coast from strong winds. This brightly coloured region, with its fig trees, orange groves and almond trees in blossom, is also the most verdant and fertile. The southern coastline consists of a long stretch of fabulous sandy beaches, broken up by extraordinary rugged cliffs and fantastic grottoes.

Apart from the wealth of available water sports facilities (the marinas of Vilamoura and Lagos deserves special mention, amongst the various ports and harbours), there are other alternatives, such as tennis courts, famous golf`courses, luxury hotels or quaint holiday resorts and an exciting nightlife.

MALTA-SALINA BAY

In Malta, you'll explore 7000 years of history yet live passionately in the present. You'll span the millennia with an astonishing array of things to discover. And wherever you go, the Islands' scenery and architecture provide a spectacular backdrop. The colours are striking. Honey-coloured stone against the deepest of Mediterranean blues.

The Maltese Islands have been described as one big open-air museum. What makes them unique is that so much of their past is visible today. Delve into the Islands' mysterious prehistory, retrace the footsteps of St Paul or see where the Knights of St John defended Christendom.

But Malta is no regular museum. Here life is lived to the full, so make time for some living history and action. Visit locations where Oscar-winning blockbusters were filmed or go off the beaten track into ancient villages. Marvel at the fireworks and revelry of the summertime festas and enjoy a packed calendar of events all year round.

CANARY ISLANDS

Tenerife
Known as “The Island of Eternal Spring” this beautiful island’s climate could more aptly be described as summer. Colourful flora thrive under the sun. Of the two main resort areas, Playa de las Americas on the south coast is the first choice of the serious sun-worshippers while Puerto de la Cruz, on the north-west coast, is better suited for exploring the island’s culture and history.

Gran Canaria
Known as the “Continent in Miniature” because of its diversity of terrain and vegetation, this largest island of the Las Palmas province offers mountains; lush green vegetation; fertile woodland and in contrast on the southern coastline, almost desert-like sandy beaches and coves.

Lanzarote
While the visitors first impression is not always favourable due to Lanzarote’s mysterious lunar landscape, a closer look will reveal an experience unlike anything else on earth. The sun-seeker and sportsman alike will be in seventh heaven at any of the several resorts along the coast. However, no visit would be complete without a visit to the fire mountains and Cueva de las Verdes. This 3 1/2 mile long subterranean passage is a wonder of molten lava.

SPAIN

Spain is a scenic combination of the past and the present. Its turbulent history - an epic of passion, glory and tragedy is reflected throughout its architectural heritage.

Today the old traditions are preserved in the bull fights, flamenco fiesta and the colourful religious festivals. A warm and dry climate, beaches and fine sand and plentiful recreational facilities all make Spain the most popular holiday destination in Europe.

Marbella’s sophisticated nightlife and elegant boutiques draw the world’s celebrities whose yachts fill Puerto Banus’ famous marina. The Tivoli World Amusement Park in Benalmadena is great family fun. Torremolinos, the liveliest of resorts, will keep you dancing the flamenco and disco until 5 am.

The Costa del Sol is a haven for golf enthusiasts for its many championship golf courses dotted along the coast.
