Kelly's Beach is 15km east of Bundaberg. The two coral islands, which are at the Southern most tip of the great barrier reef are Lady Musgave island with pick up at resort for a day tour cost $180 per person and Lady Elliot Island which is accessible via air from Bundaberg Airport day tour Cost $285-$294 per person. See the humpback whales (mid Aug-mid Oct) from the luxury catamaran or giant turtles at the Turtle Rookery at Mon Repos from late November to late January. In summer they come ashore to lay eggs and ten weeks later tiny turtle hatchlings make their dash for the sea. Visit the famous Bundaberg Rum Distillery, Bert Hinkler Memorials and Schmeiders Cooperage or take a local eco-tour through the area. A car is recommended to enjoy area. Don Pancho is a non-smoking Resort ,there are no smoking areas on the property at all. Don Pancho is an older style property and International guests should be aware this is not the Barrier Reef proper to avoid any dissapointment.
